Pay raise: owners, workers of powerloom industry advised to settle issue amicably

District Co-ordination Officer, Saeed Wahlah has advised the owners and workers of powerloom industry to settle their issues with mutual understanding so that business activities could continue in a conducive and peaceful environment. He was presiding over a joint meeting of representatives of powerloom owners and workers to discuss the issues related to the increase in wages of the workers.
He said that workers should bring change in their behaviour and do not indulge themselves in violent agitation. He urged both the parties to settle the issue in order to develop perpetual congenial relations with each other. During the meeting it was decided that the powerloom employers would raise the wages of their workers. DOC Chaudhry Munir, DO Labour Syed Masroor Ahmad, DDO Labour Syed Dilhon, powerloom owners representatives Muhammad Akram Ghouri, former Vice Chairman, All Pakistan Cotton Powerlooms Association, Waheed Khaliq Ramay, Mirza Shafiq Ahmad, Chaudhry Nawaz, Chaudhry Mushtaq and labour leaders Aslam Meraj, Rana Tahir, Ishfaq Butt and others were also present.
