Port Qasim Association of Trade and Industry (PQATI) has been restructured to become Bin Qasim Association of Trade and Industry under the Trade Organisations Ordinance 2007 issued by Directorate of Trade Organisations, Ministry of Commerce. Bin Qasim town houses the country's largest concentration of industries, including large-scale manufacturing units, MNCs, DFIs and SMEs, primarily in the Port Qasim and Pakistan Steel industrial zones.
The executive committee of the association, in a meeting held on July 6, praised the efforts of its founder President, Mian Muhammad Ahmed, for his efforts towards the promotion of industrial activity in the area and unanimously appointed him as Patron-in-Chief of the largest association in the country in terms of annual turnover. Mian Muhammad Ahmed re-affirmed that the association now has a bigger role to play in facilitating its members, especially DFIs, in facing the challenges created by the global economic downturn, law and order and power crises.-PR
