Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, all its affiliated chambers and associated trade bodies unanimously announced to continue its unflinching and unwavering full support to the government to stamp out the menace of terrorism.
Talking to APP on Sunday, FPCCI Chief Sultan Ahmad Chawla said that despite some plausible reservations with government on increase in petroleum products,non availability of gas, power and water to industry, we entire business community in the larger national interest, express solidarity and assuring that the entire nation stands united at call of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to weed out the terrorism from the region.
Founder Chairman Pak-US Business Council,veteran trade leader and VP Saarc CCI, Iftikhar Ali Malik said that Pakistan, in prevailing international scenario, was passing through a most critical phase of its history.
He said business community would continue to extend its full and whole-hearted support and co-operation to the Prime Minister to get rid of terrorism and extremism from the society.
Iftikhar who is also co-chairman of businessman penal, the largest traders alliance in the country said durable peace and stability in the region was pre-requisite for economic prosperity and development. He said business community had always strongly condemned the acts of terrorism across the world.
Zonal Chairman FPCCI Muhammad Adress, said "we would support the government in intensifying crack down against people indulging in activities detrimental to law of land.
He said that traders would join hands against extremism and wage a relentless campaign against those fanning hatred and preaching violence in society under the garb of religion.
FPCCI VP Hameed Akhtar Chadda, said no religion preached terrorism against innocent people. Other VPs Aftab Birlas, Mumtaz Ali Sh, Zikaria Usman and Muhammad Mansha Churra said it was high time for entire Muslim Ummah to forge unity in their ranks and help thwart the ulterior and evil designs of the forces inimical to Islam.
They said Islam is the religion of peace, love and international brotherhood and condemned nefarious and inhuman activities such as terrorism and religious and sectarian prejudices.
