Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani held a meeting with Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the Governor House here on Sunday. The Prime Minister held a meeting with the Sindh Governor and CM soon after his arrival at the Governor House.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the growing population in the country is a tremendous challenge. He emphasised that the focus of development efforts should be on the welfare of common people and to bring about a better change in their lives.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani further called upon the elected representatives to identify the projects and schemes as well as monitor the same to ensure timely completion of the development works.
As regards law and order situation, the Prime Minister said that the law enforcing agency should beef up the security measures.
It is also incumbent upon various segments of the society to facilitate and extend all possible help to the law enforcing agencies, the Prime Minister said.
Improved security environment, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani added would pave the way for economic activities, thus increasing employment opportunities for the people. Sindh Governor and Sindh Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the law and order situation and the development works in the province.
