Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani reiterated that development and prosperity in FATA and adjoining areas would help to curb the extremist tendencies. The government, he said has more than doubled the development funds of FATA public representatives and would remain focused to transform this region into a symbol of progress and prosperity.
He was talking to the Governor of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Owais Ahmad Ghani here at the Prime Minister's Secretariat on Wednesday morning. The Prime Minister also discussed with the Governor the security situation in FATA and Khyber Pukhtunkhwa. He emphasised that the elected representatives need to monitor and give a proper feedback to ensure timely completion of projects.
The Governor thanked the Prime Minister for generous allocation of development funds for the uplift of FATA and assured proper and prompt utilisation of these funds for the development of the region. He also thanked the Prime Minister for his keen interest in the welfare of the people of FATA.
