Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Federal Minister for Commerce has expressed his pleasure and satisfaction over achievement of export target for the year 2009-10. The export target for the year 2009-10 was set as $18.7 billion. The actual export for the same period remained $19.38 billion. Fahim in his statement said that it was an enormous achievement for his Ministry that despite global recession and depression at the domestic side, the export target was achieved.
The Federal Minister said that the export target was achieved at a time of severe competition in the international market and at a time when no concessional treatment was being offered to Pakistani products in the markets of US and EU. The Minister for Commerce has congratulated the exporters and the whole nation on such a hallmark achievement. The Federal Minister hoped that the export target, set in the forthcoming trade policy, would also be achieved with support from traders and exporters of the country.-PR
