Election Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday announced that polling for bye-election on Punjab Assembly constituency PP-13 Rawalpindi-XIII will be held on August 25. The PP-13 constituency fell vacant after disqualification of PML-N MPA Yasir Raza Malik due to possession of fake BA degree.
According to the schedule announced by the ECP nomination papers would be received for PP-13 bye poll from July 19-20 while these papers would be scrutinised from July 22 to 27. Appeals against the acceptance and rejection of nomination papers would be received by July 30 while the tribunal would decides these appeals by August 3.
Last date for withdrawal of candidature would be August 4 and revised list of the candidates would be announced on August 5. Meanwhile the ECP appointed Deputy Election Commissioner Rawalpindi as District Returning Officer, Assistant Election Commissioner as Returning Officer and Election Officer-II Rawalpindi and DDO (r) Rawalpindi as Assistant Returning Officers.
