Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan has said that Baloch people's rights of property must be accepted and they should be given their due share. He warned that if the rulers' attitude does not change, masses might rise in revolt, resort to civil disobedience and throw them out.
He was Thursday addressing a big rally organised by JI at Multan Road to condemn the murder of BNP secretary general, Habib Jalib Baloch. He termed government's attitude towards Baloch people as inhuman, saying remedy lies in ending military operation, punishing the killers of Nawab Akbar Bugti, Turbat martyrs and Habib Jalib's murder's and giving them an exemplary punishment.
The JI chief observed that there was no law in the country and life, property and honour of the people were not secure, while and the federal and provincial governments were busy fulfilling US agenda. Ironically, he said, all members of Balochistan assembly were cabinet ministers while the province was burning, becoming a victim of military operation and target killings.
He stressed military operation had deepened the sense of deprivation among the Baloch people and provided India an opportunity to interfere. India was distributing huge funds on Balochistan and sending terrorists. Munawwar Hassan said Indian Foreign Minister was in Pakistan these days but nobody would discuss Indian's interference in Balochistan with him. He said the nation was asking the rulers if they had any right to rule after Habib Jalib's murder.
He recalled that President Zardari had earlier sought apology from Balochistan people for centre's excesses towards Baloch people, promised province's enhanced share in NFC Award and announced Balochistan Package. However, situation in the province was deteriorating because India and US were conspiring against this country from Afghanistan, and trying their best to 'cut Pakistan to size'. In spite of this fact, federal government was acting as the front line ally in the US war.
Addressing the rally, JI secretary general, Liaquat Baloch said assassination of BNP Secretary General was a conspiracy to strengthen the separatists. He said, despite tall promises, the federal and provincial governments had failed to stop US and Indian interference in Balochistan or the saboteurs network, and that was why Baloch nationalist leaders and people were raising finger at Pakistani agencies.
