Motion-based controls and 3D technology were the names of the games at the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles. Nonetheless, the very best technology doesn't mean a thing if the games aren't good. To that end, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Konami and other publishers announced a series of titles to go with the new hardware.
Nintendo stood at the centre of attention with its 3DS, a tiny revolution in the world of video gaming. The successor to the successful DS will be the first portable gaming console with a 3D screen. Even before a release date was announced, a flood of games had been planned for the new gadget.
Konami plans to rework the third part of its successful Metal Gear
Solid game for the 3DS. First glances at the game, which focuses on stealth military tactics, promise markedly better graphics than the version released for the Playstation 2. Konami is also considering a 3D version of its Pro Evolution Soccer for football fans.
