Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has directed Ministry of Human Rights officials to visit prisons and police stations on any complaint against them to facilitate the masses. The prime minister was quoted as saying by Saleemur Rehman Mayo, Chief Consultant Ministry of Human Rights and President Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Human Rights Wing Punjab, while talking to APP here on Monday.
He said the wing would establish Human Right Complaint Cells at district level in line with the directions of the Prime Minister. He said that representatives of the wing would receive complaints and inform the Ministry about them. "Officials of the ministry will visit the complainant and contact the relevant department to resolve problems," he added. He said police would be bound to register a case within 14 days if officials of the Ministry inform it.
