Heavy rains Commissioner inspects low-lying areas

Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain surprisingly inspected low-lying areas of the city after heavy rains. DCO Naseem Sadiq, acting Managing Director Wasa and concerned officers were also present at this time. Divisional Commissioner and DCO jointly visited Allama Iqbal Colony, Dijkot Road, Gulistan Colony, Millat Chowk and directed the Wasa officers to ensure the presence of concerned circle officers and officials deputed in dewatering pumping stations.
He also directed to take stern action against the officials absent from duty and also issued orders to ensure the presence of Wasa officials on low lying areas around the clock. Residents of these areas said their problems faced them after heavy rains.
Commissioner and DCO inspected the dewatering process and issued instructions a sustainable solution of the problems and DCO said that permanent solution of the residents of low-lying areas would be evolved. Heavy machinery and manpower would be utilised for this purpose on emergent basis.
In his surprise visits of Dijkot Road, Allama Iqbal Colony, Gulistan Colony and others areas of the city. Commissioner took serious notice of the absent officials of Wasa and directed MD Wasa on telephone for taking stern actions against the absent officials from the duty. DDOR City Muhammad Asif, ACR Shafqat Ullah and concerned officers were also accompanied.
