Finance Minister Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Muhammad Ali Akhtar on Thursday said the budget, for the region, would be released by the end of this month or in the first week of August. In a telephonic conversation with APP he said the GB government is in touch with the federal government in this regard, adding, once the budget is released, all the development projects, halted due to lack of funds, would be resumed.
"The contractors are complaining about the deficiency of funds, however, they should wait some time as the funds will be released soon by the federal government," he added. Some sections of society are trying to politicise the issue by issuing false statements, but they would not be able to succeed in their designs, he said.
