Thirteen-year-old Hoor Asrar Raouf became the fastest swimmer of the country in 50 metres breaststroke and took gold in the National Women Swimming Championship held at Wapda Sports Complex, Lahore on July 19-21, 2010. Young Hoor, nicknamed 'Pocket Rocket' by her Australian coach Steavens, won the race with the time of 39.5secs. She is also group champion of National Age Group Swimming Competitions and is upcoming Pakistan hope for Olympics 2011, Insha Allah.
Hoor, who represents Army, also won another gold medal in 200 metres breaststroke the same day. Khadija Khalid of Wapda took silver while the bronze medal in the event was won by Maniha Essa of Navy.
She has also recently broken three records (50m & 100m breaststroke and 100m IM) in her age group ie 12-and-under-and-1 in open age group besides 5 gold medals and 3 silvers in different events in the 18th Palmolive Sindh Women's Swimming Championship held on October 24-25, 2009 at Karachi.
She has been selected as a youngest breaststroker of Pakistan to represent at the forthcoming SAF Games to be held at Bangladesh. She was also selected to represent Pakistan Women Swimming Team to participate in World Championship held in Rome, Italy in July 2009.
She is also the member of KGS rowing team and grabbed silver and bronze medals for school in first national Regatta held in January 2009, at Boat Club, Karachi. Represented Pakistan Swimming Team in Commonwealth Youth Olympics held at Pune, India in November 2008, as a youngest participant of the national contingent and bettered her timings in the 100m breaststroke event.
Selected in Pakistan Swimming Team to participate in the First South Asian Countries Swimming Competition and Water Polo Games 2007 held at Islamabad, Pakistan from September 03, 2007 to September 08, 2007 as a youngest Pakistan Colour holder (age ten years) in under 14 years girls events.
Created new record in 100m IM (1:32:20), disadvantage year of group II ie under 10 years in the 15th Sindh Women's Swimming Championship 2006. Group champion for the last four years of Karachi Gymkhana and is on their Honours Board. Won various medals at different inter-club competitions, since September 2003 to January 12, 2010.-PR
