Three people including two activists of the Awami National Party (ANP) were gunned down in the Nayabad area of Lyari during wee hours on Sunday.
The residents of Nayabad - Jawaid Rajo 30, Sahib Ali 28 and Imran 25 were gunned down near Madina Masjid in the limits of Baghdadi Police Station.
SHO Baghdadi Police Station Imtiaz Niazi, when contacted, only confirmed the killings of two ANP workers. He said, "A quarrel took place between the ANP and the Katchhi Rabita Committee (KRC) workers a few days ago over a land dispute. Jawaid alias Rajo and Sahib Ali, activists of the ANP, were in their party office at the time when armed men attacked it, leaving them dead on the spot".
He also said that a FIR has been registered in this regard and investigations are underway.
Provincial Vice President ANP Bara'ak Kakar said the armed men of KRC attacked the office of ANP, killing Jawaid Rajo on the spot while injuring two others Nazir and Kamran, who received bullet injuries and were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). Kakar further said another activist of the ANP Sahib Ali was targeted and then shot. He was brought to the JPMC in a critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries. Chippa ambulance sources said Imran was gunned down in Nayabad and his body was shifted to the JPMC.
