Pakistan Steel Line-pipe Industry Association (PSPA) Chairman, Sanaullah Salman has said industrialists and traders are not involved in any misappropriation of Pakistan Steel Mills assets, as purchases of PSM products were made as per rules. Talking to office bearers of PSPA here on Sunday, he alleged that industrialists were being arrested to save the real culprits of the PSM corruption case.
"The rulers are pressurising FIA and the industrialists and the traders are being apprehended", he contended. Mian Sanaullah said that the industrialists always made purchases at the prescribed rates and no backdoor was used for purchasing the material but the government is trying to save the people involved in misappropriation of PSM funds. He argued that the industry which is earning billions of rupees in foreign exchange is being forced to be close down and alleged that the people working against the country's industries are trying to undermine the efforts of Chief Justice of Pakistan to eliminate corruption and protect local industry.
A PSPA press release said that Muhammad Hashim, Kamran, Major Zubair, Abdul Qayyum Butt, Mian Muhammad Usman and Chaudhry Mohammad Jabbar also addressed the gathering. They threatened if the FIA did not stop maltreatment of the industrialists, they would be forced to close down their industries.
