Two more ships namely MV Tala, carrying 26,700MT, and MV Zenobia, carrying 21,000MT of imported sugar, have arrived in Karachi. Both the ships have taken berth at ports and started discharging the commodity, said a press release issued here Sunday.
The above shipments are in response to TCP's tender awarded to M/s Al-Khaleej, LLC Dubai for the import of 200,000MT sugar on May 08, 2010. Moreover, two more ships carrying a total quantity of around 42,000MT in break bulk and 65,000MT sugar in containers are expected to arrive in the country by August 2010.
A total quantity of 310,815MT sugar, being imported by TCP in pursuant with the decision of ECC of the Cabinet, have arrived so far. -PR
