Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaquat Baloch has condemned the apathy of the law enforcing agencies over the targeted killing in Karachi and demanded resignation of the provincial government for its failure in maintaining law and order.
In a press statement here on Sunday he said the continued targeted killings even during the presence of the President and the Interior Minister in the city proved there was jungle law in the Sindh capital and the killers roamed about freely.
The PPP-MQM-ANP coalition government's scheme seemed to be to prolong their rule through the bloodshed of innocent citizens, he added. He said all the three were united within but were shedding crocodile tears because of which the murderers, the extortionists and terrorists had become bold.
He said the allegations and counter allegations by the coalition partners against one another in respect of targeted killings, property grabbing and extortions and their threats for quitting the government were merely eyewash.
He slated the firing of MQM terrorists on the Shabab-e-Milli workers in Karachi and demanded that the MQM workers arrested by the Rangers on the spot be tried and given exemplary punishment under the law.
