The Junior Chamber International (JCI) World President Roland Kwemai has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Provincial Minister of Youth Affairs, Faisal Sabzwari on Wednesday afternoon at a local hotel. The JCI Chief has offered the government to provide assistance and expertise in coping up the unemployment due to ongoing financial crisis globally.
The JCI chief while addressing a joint press conference later on along with National President JCI, Israr Ullah Khan, Secretary General JCI, Shahid Pervez, former National Presidents Wasif Iqbal, former World Executive Vice President, Anwar Kashif Mumtaz on Wednesday at Karachi Press Club said that the young generation is facing acute problems of unemployment due to ongoing global financial crisis and the time has come for youth to address this problem by creating self-employment.
Kwemai who arrived in Pakistan as a part of his mission to visit over 100 countries to create awareness among youth and promote Corporate Social Responsibility, addressing the media said that he came to Pakistan to create awareness among the youth to create opportunities of employment for themselves by initiating certain projects or individual employment opportunities in service sector as well. For this purpose he visited a number of cities in interior Sindh and addressed to the students of various educational institutes including Mehran University, Jamshoro.
He also visited Mirpur Khas and opened up a local chapter of JCI there, he is scheduled to meet Governor Sindh as well. He said that he would also meet the President Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Sultan Chawla to discuss the issues of youth. Kwemain said that Pakistan is facing immense problem of its perception world wide as the foreign media has tarnished its image.
He suggested the youth in Pakistan to come forward and respond to the negative propaganda of international media against Pakistan. "Not only Pakistan but the entire Africa is facing the similar problems while the international media is portraying negative picture of Africa which should be dealt with effectively," Kwemain said.
Former National President, JCI, Anwar Kashif Mumtaz said on this occasion. Unfortunately, Pakistan is wrongly managed and ruled by the rulers. He said that JCI believes in democracy and through democracy change is inevitable. JCI National President, Israr Ullah Khan spelled out details of JCI's activities and future plans in Pakistan including awareness campaign, educational activities, seminars to explore additional trade markets for Pakistan's industry.-PR
