The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) registered a positive closing on its weekend with LSE-25 index gaining 10.03 points amid ascending transaction volume. The LSE-25 index gained 10.03 points and was closed at 3367.38 against 3357.35 of Thursday, while transaction volume moved up to 4.239 million shares, as compared to 3.427 million shares traded yesterday.
According to brokers, equities kept on moving up and down but finally landed in positive zone following buying in selective shares. The investors took fresh positions in selective shares. PSO, PPL, Pak Oil Fields, Engro Corporation, MCB Bank, Wah Nobel Chemicals, Treet Corporation, ICI Pakistan, Attock Refinery and Flying Cement resisted selling pressure and registered with gains.
On the other hand, Mari Gas Company, HBL, Dewan Farooq Motors, UBL, D.G. Khan Cement, Netsol Technologies, Hub Power and NBP suffered losses and closed in red zone. The gainers were more than the losers, as out of a total of 105 active issues, 41 companies registered gains, 22 landed in minus column, while values of 42 companies remained unchanged at their previous closing.
Among the gainers, PSO gained Rs 12.28, PPL was appreciated by Rs 3.71, while Pak Oil Fields, Engro Corporation, MCB Bank, Wah Nobel Chemicals, Treet Corporation, ICI Pakistan, Attock Refinery and Flying Cement were appreciated by Rs 2.79, Rs 2.47, Rs 2.44, Rs 2.24, Rs 2.05, Rs 1.39, Rs 1.29, Re 1.00, respectively.
Mari Gas Company lost Rs 1.55; HBL was declined by Rs 0.89, while Dewan Farooq Motors, UBL, D.G. Khan Cement, Netsol Technologies, Hub Power and NBP were down by Rs 0.75, Rs 0.69, Rs 0.34, Rs 0.24, Rs 0.21 and Rs 0.17, respectively. Bank Alfalah was the market leader whose 469,958 shares changed hands followed by Lotte Pakistan with 429,713 shares.
