Health Department Punjab has sent six medical teams along with six ambulances from Rawalpindi and Faisalabad to Mianwali for providing medical relief to the flood affected people. Moreover, one lakh bottles of mineral water have also dispatched to Mianwali.
Director General Health Punjab Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhary Informed that other day the department has sent seventy thousands bottles of mineral water to Mianwali, which had reached there. He further said that all necessary medicines, including one lakh packets of ORS are also being sent for the treatment of gastro-enteritis. He said that five trucks of mineral water have been sent for Layyah whereas, two trucks for Taunsa and one truck of mineral water bottles has been sent to Rajanpur.
Dr Muhammad Aslam Said that due to the huge flood there was acute shortage of drinking water in those areas, therefore, mineral water in a big quantity has been sent to those areas. He said that the provision of heath care facilities to the flood afftectees of DG Khan, Rajanpur, Taunsa, Mianwali and other areas is in full swing and a fresh consignment of medicines has also been sent to Mianwali.
The DG Health further said that mobile medical teams are providing medical relief at the spot to the people marooned in the flood water whereas, medical camps have been established in all the affected districts where doctors and paramedical staff is providing medical care to the affected people. He said that sufficient quantity of medicine is available in all the camps.
