Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi briefed Islamabad based heads of diplomatic missions on the flood situation in the country and damages caused to infrastructure, houses and crops. He thanked the international community for the relief assistance, which has already started arriving in the country, said a statement issued by Foreign office here.
Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmad (Retd), Chairman NDMA gave a detailed presentation on the most affected districts in all the provinces, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also briefed on rescue and relief efforts being undertaken by the government and the support received from the UN and the international community. The heads of missions expressed sympathies on the loss of lives and property in the unprecedented floods and assured international community's support and solidarity with the people and government of Pakistan in meeting this challenge.-PR
