EDO Revenue, Roshan Ali Shaikh has directed Special Judicial Magistrates of all towns of Karachi to start checking of rates of grocery items, milk and vegetables sold in markets and various Bachat Bazaars so that the citizens could be saved from overpricing during the holy month of Ramazan.
He was chairing the meeting of officers of Revenue Department, which was attended by Additional EDO Revenue, Matanat Ali Khan, Zonal Additional District Officers Revenue, Special Judicial Magistrates of 18 towns of Karachi, Chief of Consumer Rights Council, Ahmed Chinoy and members of CRC Huma Bukhari and Rafiq Bashir.
The EDO Revenue on this occasion warned the traders and shopkeepers to avoid overcharging of grocery items, milk, vegetables and other utility items otherwise strict action will be taken against them. He also directed the traders to affix the price list of grocery items and vegetables issued by the E&IP Department in their shops and stores otherwise they will have to face heavy fine. The price list can be obtained from E&IP Department or from the concerned association of traders.
