The Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice here on Thursday allowed more time to Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Aslam Tareen till August 09 for the recovery of minor son of Asma Zahra, sister in-law of film actress Meera Earlier, the CCPO told the court that six special teams had been constituted to trace out the minor and more time was required to accomplish the task.
The lady had filed a habeas corpus petition for the recovery of her four-month old son Murtaza from illegal custody of his father Ahsan Abbas. Petitioner submitted that her husband had kicked her out from house along with the minor baby. However, on June 4, 2010 Ahsan accompanied by armed men attacked her parents' house and took away the child.
She said a case was lodged against Ahsan Abbas, his brother Hassan Abbas, their mother Shafqat Zahra and other persons but no arrest had been made so far. A habeas corpus petition was also filed before district & sessions judge and a bailiff was deputed to recover and produce the baby but to no avail, petitioner added. Petitioner requested to the court to order police to recover her son from illegal custody of his father.
