The second "Iron and Steel Conference 2010" will be held on August 09, to discuss the issues and challenges faced by iron and steel sector in the country. The SKEN Business Management Services will organise the conference, which is being taken at the most appropriate time when Iron and steel sector is facing one of the most challenging phase since the time of its establishment.
Pakistan Steel Mills Corporation which is the only public entity and largest industrial concern of the country is in the most difficult situation due to which the others industries as well are also getting effected economically. The conference will be recognition towards the problems face by the steel industry and the remedies & prospects for surfacing this issue.
Acting Chairman and Director Finance Pakistan Steel Mills Corporation, Imtiaz A. K. Lohdi will be the chief guest, while Haq Nawaz Akhtar, former secretary Ministry of Communication and former Chairman, Pakistan Steel Mill Corporation will be present on the occasion. The speakers who will address the conference include Humayun Khan Sikandari - Executive Director General BOI, Dr Muhammad Nasim Director General NEEC, Dr Shahzad Alam Director General PCSIR, Iqbal Ahmed Chief Executive Officer Engineering Development Board, Sikandar Mustafa Khan Chairman Pakistan Foundry Association, Hamad Azhar Vice Chairman Pakistan Steel Re-Rolling Mills Association, Mian Muhammad Ashraf Chairman Pakistan Steel Melters Association, Iqbal Hashmi Country Managing Director SKF Pakistan (Pvt) Limited and Ali Akhtar Khan from Tuwairqi Steel Mills Limited.
