The University of Sindh has approved to award M.Phil and Ph.D degrees to six candidates in different disciplines, here on Friday. The decision in this regard was taken in a special meeting of Advanced Studies and Research Board, presided over by Dr Iqbal Ahmed Panhwar, Pro Vice Chancellor Sindh University Campus Mirpurkhas.
The meeting, in the light of reports of local and foreign examiners, approved to award two Ph.D degrees in Urdu to research scholars Rafiq Ahmed and Syed Atique Ahmed Jilani. The meeting also approved to award M.Phil degrees to research scholars Amir Ahmed Masti Khel in Area Studies, Muhammad Saleem Chang in Zoology, Abdul Majeed Magrio in Botany and Ghulam Hussain Burdi in Freshwater Biology and Fisheries. The meeting also approved several cases for registration of candidates in M.Phil and Ph.D research and changing of guide for their research work. The meeting was attended by deans of faculties, heads of different teaching institutes and departments, senior professors, registrar, director graduates studies and controller of examinations of the varsity.
