Dr Wasim Kausar, IG National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) has said that motorway police is proud to be declared as a corruption free organisation, listed with 13 countries of the world. This has not only put the name of NH&MP in good books at international level but of the country as well.
Young motorway police officers should work hard to keep the name of NH&MP high so that we should maintain the standards of professionalism already achieved. While speaking at a ceremony of passing out parade of second 'Basic Police Course' for JPOs at NH&MP Training Institute, Sheikhupura on Saturday, the IG said NH&MP has for the first time changed colonial image of police system in Asia and presented service oriented work.
He said that we should not only keep it up, but also should struggle hard to replicate it in other such institutions because this system has given respect to people and has not tarnished personal respect of any individual. He called upon the young offices to maintain not only their physical health, but also their mental health as well so they could serve people with enthusiasm and dedication.
On the occasion, Dr Kausar announced Rs 2.5 million to uplifting the institute. He also laid floral wreath on the memorable monument of Shuhada and offered Fateha. He also announced to raise the money for Shuhda from 0.5 million to 0.10 million. He also inaugurated state of the art driving training school in the institute, established with the help of Nestle Company.
Commandant of the Institute, SSP Jehanzeb Khan Jogezai said in his address said a training-need analysis (TNA) is conducted before the commencement of any course and on the basis of TNA, curriculum is developed to meet modern needs of training. This curriculum is revised on yearly basis to fulfil present field requirements.
He said NH&MP training institute has been established on international standards and now it can be equalised with any police institute of the world. Later, the IGP awarded shields and CC-I with cash to all round first JPO Muhammad Shah Zaman Virk, first in academics Lady JPO Saba Javed and best in firing Lady JPO Sumaira Bibi. The IGP also inspected parade and received salute from force. DIG Syed Ibne Hussain, DIG Fatheh Shaer Joia, SSP Nisar Soriya, SSP Inam ur Rehman Malik and SSP Dr Inam Waheed were also present on the occasion.
