The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) on Saturday has announced the result of 9th Quality Assurance Test (QAT) of the Foundation Assisted Schools (FAS). According to the result, 1,335 partner schools from 29 districts took part in it. A total number of 1,203 schools qualified the test while 32 schools could not pass it. The overall passing percentage was 97 percent.
According to the spokesman of the Punjab Education Foundation, QATs are held biannually to evaluate the quality of education of partner schools. Under the FAS programme, the spokesman informed that as many as 8,05000 students are enrolled in 29 districts in Punjab. Out of these, 5,00,000 students are studying in Southern Punjab districts where PEF has emerged as a powerful tool of providing free education to poor strata, the spokesman concluded.
