Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq said that Punjab government was endorsing private sector involvement in the province for the betterment of national economy. He said provincial government recently introduced and accepted the public private partnership act.
"It shows the commitment of the Punjab government for the betterment of the national interest and for the business community," he added. He was addressing the 23rd achievement awards ceremony of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) held here at Jinnah Convention Centre Islamabad. Expressing his views on Afghan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTA), he said that government made the decision in hurry and did not take stakeholders on board. He was of the view that any policy which has less support of the concerned community would never be successful.
He said that Chief Minister Punjab was committed to make the Rawalpindi City an Industrial hub and ready to take any step in this regard. Raja said that CM also approved the RCCI suggestion of establishing Mass Transit Train for the twin cities. He further said that for the uplift of the Rawalpindi city, CM Punjab has decided to make President RCCI the board member of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).
He felicitated the award winners and said that exporters are the asset of the country. Speaking on the occasion RCCI President Kashif Shabbir said that Rawalpindi was becoming an Industrial hub of the country.
