Ustad Mohammad Mohaqiq, the leader of the Hizb-e-Wahadat Party and a prominent Parliamentarian belonging to Hazara Community in Afghanistan on Monday called on Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi. During the meeting held in a cordial atmosphere, Foreign Minister Qureshi and Ustad Mohammad Mohaqiq exchanged views on matters of mutual interests, said a statement issued by the Foreign Office here.
The two expressed satisfaction over the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries and stressed the need to consolidate them further through concerted efforts. It was agreed that Pakistan and Afghanistan faced common challenges, which could be overcome through mutual understanding and co-operation. Foreign Minister Qureshi thanked the government and the people of Afghanistan for the help extended to the flood-affectees in Pakistan.
Afghanistan has sent four tons of medicines and four helicopters for rescue operations in the flood affected areas. Ustad Mohaqiq conveyed the sympathises and condolences of the Government of Afghanistan over the loss of lives and property in the flood affected areas.-PR
