Pakistan is experiencing the worst floods of its history, which have caused immense damage to life and property and have left millions as homeless. The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) in all previous calamities has always risen to the occasion by demonstrating a concerned sense of responsibility.
On Tuesday, in an extraordinary meeting of senior management under the chair of Managing Director Dr Faizullah Abbasi, the officials dilated on all possible relief activities the company would be managing in its franchise area of Sindh and Balochistan. The Managing Director gave special instructions as a result of which all the transmission, zonal, regional and local offices of the company, including the headquarters, were put on red alert to combat this disaster with a clear-cut order to offer all possible relief to their nearby communities.
Dedicated teams of doctors and paramedics were formulated for organising medical camps to serve the worst flood affected areas in priority. These teams, fully equipped with medicines, will be stationed in the vicinities till the time they are needed by the local communities and shall be reinforced by the company's head office with proper intervals.
Moreover, special packs of non-perishable foodstuff in large quantities are being packed which shall be soon dispatched to the needy people spread over the company's franchise area of operation. In order to smoothly manage the relief operation it was decided that these food packs will be distributed by the company's employees by themselves rather than handing them over to local authorities. The company's senior management, in its meeting, also decided to meet on a daily basis for effectively monitoring and enhancing the scope of relief activities in order to facilitate the much needy and deserving people.-PR
