The Karachi Sales Tax Bar (KSTB) has asked the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend the date of e-filing of monthly sales tax returns to August 25, 2010. Khushnood A Khan, president of KSTB, lauded the efforts of FBR to debug its web portal, saying that although the web-portal of FBR has been debugged, the taxpayers should also be facilitated in e-filing of sales tax returns.
He said that the taxpayers had suffered for days in filing of their monthly sales tax returns because of down-server of FBR web. Therefore, the taxpayers need some relaxation in terms of extension of date in e-filing of sales tax returns to fulfil their legal obligations on time, and added that the FBR should extend the date of submitting sales tax returns and challans for the month of July to August 25, 2010, which is presently 15th of a month.
