Flood victims and general public, belonging to 19 flood-hit districts in the province continued to throng the 498 medical camps and 81 medical mobile teams constituted on the directives of Sindh Minister for Health Dr Sagheer Ahmed. Health department sources claimed here on Wednesday that 88034 patients have been treated in these camps that are providing round-the-clock treatment facilities to the rain and flood affected people.
The toll free number 0800-12012 announced by the department is also functional and is of great help to co-ordinate treatment arrangements for rain and flood affected people. According to details 15407 patients of diarrhea, 5109 of gastro-enteritis, 12595 of A.R.I, 12396 of malaria, 15075 of skin diseases, 1102 of heat stroke, 3338 of eye infection, 23012 of other disease were treated at the makeshift facilities developed by the health department.
Doctors and paramedics at the 25 medical camps in Shikarpur attended 36 patients of diarrhea, 91 of ARI, 12 of Malaria, 187 of skin disease, 12 of eye infection. While 101 with other diseases were also treated there. In Ghotki where eight medical camps are functional 400 patients of diarrhea, 13 of dysentery, 352 of ARI, 143 of Malaria, 449 of skin disease, 332 of eye infection, 975 with other diseases were treated.
Doctors serving at 06 medical camps in Tando Muhammad Khan attended 18 patients of diarrhea, 09 of dysentery, 28 of ARI, 10 of Malaria, 07 of skin disease, 11 of Eye Infection and 03 with other diseases. At Kashmore where 12 medical camps are functional 355 patients of diarrhea, 183 of dysentery, 783 of ARI, 512 of Malaria, 243 of skin disease, 10 of heat stroke, 254 of Eye Infection and 393 with other diseases were treated.
In Badin the health personnel treated 514 patients of diarrhea, 54 of Dysentery, 480 of ARI, 303 of skin disease, 67 of Eye Infection and 1504 with other diseases. Those serving at the government run 11 medical camps at Thatta treated 75 patients of diarrhea , 135 of ARI, 93 of Malaria, 54 of skin disease, 21 of Eye Infection and 305 of other diseases.
At the 07 medical camps in Shaheed Benazirabad 186 patients of diarrhea, 15 of dysentery, 154 of ARI, 243 of Malaria, 260 of skin disease, 41 of eye infection, 341 of other diseases were treated. Doctors and paramedics at 41 medical camps in Jamshoro attended 93 patients of diarrhea, 31 of dysentery, 131 of ARI, 65 of Malaria, 65 of skin disease, 06 of heat stroke, 08 of eye infection and 93 with other diseases.
In Khairpur where 13 medical camps are functional 203 patients of diarrhea, 35 of Dysentery, 183 of ARI, 105 of Malaria, 113 of skin disease, 30 of Eye Infection, 306 of other diseases were treated. The 12 medical camps in Dadu received 321 patients of diarrhea, 69 of dysentery, 467 of ARI, 78 of Malaria, 156 of skin disease, 186 of Eye Infection and 185 of other diseases.
Sukkur with 15 medical camps received 250 patients of diarrhea, 37 of Dysentery, 407 of ARI, 260 of Malaria, 430 of skin disease, 260 of eye infection and 672 with other diseases. At Tando Allahyar 34 patients of diarrhea, 20 of Dysentery, 215 of ARI, 137 of skin diseases, 02 of heat stroke, 10 of eye infection were treated. Larkana with 18 medical camps received 58 patients of diarrhea, 16 of dysentery, 56 of ARI, 84 of Malaria, 173 of skin disease, 48 of Eye Infection and 368 with other diseases.
Doctors serving at 16 different medical camps in Noshero Feroze treated 139 patients of diarrhea, 30 of dysentery, 120 of ARI, 121 of Malaria, 205 of skin disease, 14 of heat stroke, 18 of Eye Infection, 368 with other diseases. Mitiari with 26 medical camps received 124 patients of diarrhea, 02 of Dysentery, 86 of ARI, 42 of Malaria, 197 of skin disease, 06 of Heta Stroke, 11 of Eye Infection, 151 of other diseases.
Doctors attending patients at 14 medical camps in Hyderabad treated 32 patients of diarrhea, 19 of ARI, 32 of skin disease, 01 of Eye Infection and 10 patient with other diseases. In Shikarpur 24 patients of diarrhea, 06 of Dysentery, 37 of ARI, 15 of Malaria, 61 of skin disease were treated. Sindh Secretary for Health, Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi and Special Secretary for Health, Dr Abdul Majid are in Ghotki and Sukkur to monitor treatment facilities being provided to the affected people.
