An Emirati official says a fire at a perfume-making business in a Dubai industrial area populated by migrant labourers has killed at least 10 people. The city's director of public health and safety, Redha Salman, says the cause of the blaze shortly after midnight Tuesday remains under investigation. He says one possibility being considered is that those killed were workers being housed illegally.
Dubai newspapers on Wednesday quoted police as saying 11 people died in the fire. Salman said he's aware of at least 10 fatalities, but couldn't confirm their nationalities.
