Arif Habib Securities Limited (AHSL) has registered profit after tax of Rs 3.798 billion in the fiscal year FY10 as compared to after tax loss of Rs 2.768 billion recorded in FY09. The company registered earning per share of Rs 10.13 in the period under review against per share loss of Rs 7.38 in the same period a year back.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held here on Wednesday recommended special dividend for the year at the rate of 30 percent ie to distribute 112.50 million shares of Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited (FFCL) having face value of Rs 10 each, to the shareholders of the company as special dividend in the ratio of 3:10 (three shares of FFCL for every 10 shares held of AHSL).
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the company's operating revenue increased to Rs 1,636.918 million in FY10 against Rs 316.872 million in FY09. The company's net loss on sale of securities declined to Rs 139.966 million against Rs 477.519 million. The company registered net gain on remcasurement of investments of Rs 2,680.034 million in FY10 against net loss of Rs 338.369 million in the same period in FY09. The company registered profit before taxation of Rs 3.732 billion in FY10 against before tax loss of Rs 2.134 billion in FY09.
