Nineteen bodies have been recovered and 12 people rescued from the debris of a building that collapsed in the Nigerian capital Abuja, the police said Thursday. "Nineteen dead bodies have so far been recovered while 12 others were rescued alive. Rescue operation is still ongoing," said Federal Capital Territory police spokesman Abass Jimoh.
The residential building said to be three storeys collapsed on Wednesday in central part of Abuja city. Half of the building was under construction at the time of the collapse, while people were living in the other half.
