Soyabean and corn basis were bids slightly firmer on Tuesday at river locations around the US Midwest as farmers sold very small loads, grain merchants said. Meanwhile, wheat bids were flat. Corn bids rose 3 to 3-1/2 cents per bushel on the Mississippi River and 1 cent on the Illinois River. Soyabean bids rose 4 cents per bushel on the Illinois River and 1 cent per bushel on the Mississippi River.
A Chicago grain broker noted several new-crop corn and soyabean sales. There was uncertainty in the market about corn yield and production as the Midwestern Pro Farmer crop tour got underway, dealers said.
