A woman, First Officer Annila Haroon has accused First Officer Farrukh Bhatti of sexual harassment. Bhatti was summoned by the Women Protection Committee (WPC) of PIA on Tuesday to record his statement. He may face strict disciplinary action by the management if the accusation is proved true.
Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (PALPA) is exerting pressure on PIA's management to avoid any action against the first officer, stalling fair investigation in the case. In the past also, some senior pilots facing similar charges, were removed from their duties.
