As a consequence of heavy floods in the country, production of liquid fuel from Parco oil refinery located at Mehmood Kot, has been reduced. This situation has further aggravated with the damage to major highways, making transportation of petrol very difficult, hence resulting in its shortage.
In order to facilitate general public, it has been decided by federal government that the weekly gas holiday in the CNG sector shall not be observed during next two weeks so that alternate fuel becomes available, said a press release. "We expect that this situation will improve as soon as the flood waters recede. After two weeks, therefore, one gas holiday per week shall be observed by the CNG sector in accordance with the existing practice," it added.-PR
