"After serving the poor and needy patients for three years on cost-free basis, Indus Hospital is planning to expand the range of its services with advanced health infrastructure as well as the spacious premises for the hospital to continue free of charge quality medical services to the patients," Indus Hospital CEO Dr Abdul Bari Khan, stated in a statement on Friday.
He said Indus Hospital was a 150-bed state-of-the-art tertiary care centre at Korangi that provided high quality medical care completely free of cost for the vulnerable and impoverished people. The hospital contains state-of-the-art health facilities like emergency, consultant clinic, filter clinic, lab tests, X-rays, ultrasound, ECG, ETT, ECHO, Dialysis and TB Clinic.
Dr Bari said the hospital had undertaken a good number of successful surgeries in just three years. Total number of surgeries undertaken by the hospital stands at an impressive figure of 13,351 from July 2007 to June 2010. Presently, the hospital's monthly operational expenditures are 30 millions rupees as the waiting list for all specialities is rising day by day.
To attend the rising number of patients the need for expansion of the hospital is urgently required. Initially, the hospital is in immediate need of 300 million rupees to fulfil the requirements of Board of Revenue, Government of Sindh, Karachi, along with 360 million rupees running cost for the year 2010-2011. He urged the philanthropists to come forward and support the Indus Hospital with generous donations.-PR
