River Indus continues to flow in exceptionally high flood level in Sukkur with outflow of 946,000 cusecs and very high flood level in Guddu with discharge of 871,000 cusecs of water. According to Federal Flood Commission (FFC), the river is in medium flood in Chashma-Taunsa reach with discharge of 434,000 and 451,000 cusecs respectively and in low flood in Tarbela-Kalabagh reach.
River Kabul is in medium flood stage with rising trend in Warsak-Nowshera reach with outflow 47,000 and 92,000 cusecs. River Chenab is in low flood with falling trend at Panjnad, whereas River Jhelum is in low flood with rising trend at Rasul. River Indus is likely to sustain exceptionally high flood level at Sukkur Barrage during next 24-48 hours, which can result in inundation and riverine flooding in the low lying areas of districts Khairpur, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Nawabshah, Hyderabad and Nausheroferoze.
The river is flowing in very high flood with rising trend at Kotri Barrage and likely to attain exceptionally high flood Level of 800,000 cusecs during next 12-24 hours, which may further rise up to 800,000-900,000 cusecs during the next 24-48 hours.
Meanwhile, Tarbela and Mangla Dams are at elevation of 1548.22 feet and 1206.00 feet, respectively, which are 1.78 feet and 4.00 feet below their respective Maximum Conservation Levels of 1550.00 feet and 1210.00 feet. The combined live storage position of Tarbela, Mangla & Chashma is 11.559 MAF as compared to last year's 11.641 MAF.
