Argentina's soya closing prices and trends on Friday: In the main grains market of Rosario, soya closed down for a second day to 1,020 pesos ($255) per tonne due to losses in the influential Chicago futures market, traders said. Soya closed at 1,038 pesos on Thursday.
Trade volume remained light at between 1,000 and 2,000 tonnes compared with 5,000 tonnes in the previous session. Market sources said trade volume will increase if buyers agree to purchase at 1,050 pesos per tonne. US soya futures closed lower, weighed down by outlooks for a potential record large US soya crop for this year's harvest, a firm dollar, lower crude oil and weak equities. In Rosario, soya for delivery in May 2011, which is quoted in dollars, fell $2 to close at $243 per tonne.
