Nepali's Member Parliament Seta Kumari Pondal along with social workers from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on Monday raised funds for flood stricken Pakistanis. The fund raising event was organised under the aegis of Labour Relief Campaign. She asked the philanthropists to give generously for the victims of this natural calamity.
Seta Kumari Pondal along with President of Nepali's NGOs Federation Sharmila Kurki, Bangladesh's Human Rights Activist Faisal Bin Majeed and Sri Lanka's Peace Activist Nalini Ratna Raja collected funds for the flood affectees at the Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam. The general public respondent them generously and gave donations.
While talking to Business Recorder Seta Kunari said that it was a good initiative taken by the Pakistan Labour Party and vowed to launch similar campaigns in their respective countries. She also asked the political parties and civil society to donate wholeheartedly for this noble cause. It is the worse disaster than Tsunami and going to affect the economy, since all crops have been damaged. Every one should play his role so that the hardship of the flood affectees could be minimised. We, all South Asians stand with Pakistanis brethren on this time of need, she added.
