Long weekend ahead?

There has been debate going on whether the government has restored the long lost Iqbal day holiday or not. There is no official announcement made by any government body yet but there have been rumours, making people anxious for an extra day-off.

Iqbal day has been celebrated all over the country with zeal every year on November 9. Events have been organized countrywide in Pakistan and a public holiday used to be announced. Last year, the holiday was not given thus anything can happen this year.

Meanwhile, the Chehlum of Imam Hussain will be observed on the 20th of the Islamic month of Safar and it will fall on Friday, November 10. Private school association has announced holiday for students, thus they might enjoy four-day long weekend.

Meanwhile, mobile signals and Internet services will be blocked on the occasion of Chehlum, according to a notification.
