Pakistan captain Salman Butt said it would be "the most wonderful thing" for his largely youthful side if they could draw their Test series with England. "I think it would be the most wonderful thing," Butt told reporters at Lord's - where the fourth Test starts Thursday - here on Wednesday when asked about a drawn series.
"To come from 2-0 down to level the series would help and boost their confidence for the rest of their futures," the 25-year-old added. "They would then have this to fall back on for the rest of their careers, even when they are older and telling young people what can happen. It is always good to have that."
Left-hander Butt, who dropped down from opening the innings at The Oval, said: "I feel wonderful. The ball is hitting the middle. "Both times in the winning games, when really it mattered the most, I got runs. It is not always about getting big runs, it is about getting the runs that matter in the context of the game. "If you are chasing 180-odd you don't score centuries to win the game. All you need is two people scoring a 50 or a 40 and you are home."
