MK Dons produced the upset of the English League Cup second round on Tuesday with a 4-3 victory over Premier League Blackpool. Sam Baldock gave the League One side a first-minute lead before an extraordinary burst of four goals in six minutes at the start of the second half.
Brett Ormerod levelled in the 52nd minute, before Jermaine Easter (55 and 57) gave the hosts a 3-1 lead. Ludovic Sylvestre, the only Blackpool player to start both this game and Saturday's league defeat at Arsenal, pulled a goal back and Charlie Adam took the game to extra-time with an 82nd-minute penalty.
However, Lewis Guy's 110th-minute goal gave the Dons, two divisions below Blackpool, victory. Wigan beaten 4-0 and 6-0 by Blackpool and Chelsea respectively in the Premier League, eased the pressure on manager Roberto Martinez with a 3-0 win away to Hartlepool. Blackburn's on-loan Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf scored a hat-trick in the 3-1 defeat of Norwich.
