As many as eight villages of the Kasur District and standing crops over 35,000 acres of land inundated on Friday due to a release of 60 thousands cusecs water in the River Sutlej by India, Aaj TV reported. Quoting the Flood Warning Centre, the channel said there was 'Low Flood' in the River Sutlej.
The channel also said the District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Kasur in a press briefing said the water inflow in Sutlej at the Ganda Sangha in Kasur is 60 thousands cusecs, due to which floodwater entered in various villages including Mastike Garh. The DCO said water level in the river is likely to sustain the current level during the next three days. The administration has warned the people living along the river to vacate the area, the channel added.
