Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed the officials of Zakat and Ushr as well as Law Departments to finalise the proposed draft of amendments in the existing Zakat and Ushr laws at the earliest.
After the passage of 18th Constitutional Amendment, he said most of the powers stand devolved to provinces regarding Zakat funds distribution. He directed the official concerned for taking necessary steps for the transparent distribution of Zakat and Ushr.
He expressed these views while presiding over the meeting of the committee on new Zakat Laws in the wake of 18th Constitutional Amendment held here on Monday. The meeting was attended by Secretary Zakat & Ushr and high ranking officials of Law and Zakat & Ushr departments. Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa directed that final draft of amendments in the Zakat and Ushr Laws should be presented earliest.
