Taiwan stocks closed up 0.68 percent on Wednesday as investors sought bargains after the previous day's fall, but Quanta Computer Inc fell after it reported weaker-than-expected quarterly earnings. Deng said the TAIEX could face selling pressure when it hits 7,800 points. The main TAIEX share index closed up 51.97 points at 7,668.25, following a 1.6 percent fall on Tuesday.
Foreign investors sold T$5.3 billion ($166 million) worth of Taiwan shares on Tuesday, bringing total sales to T$46.2 billion so far this month.
