Punjab Minister for Irrigation Raja Riaz Ahmad has termed the decision of the Prime Minister for convening all parties conference for rehabilitation of flood affectees a good omen as a result of which a unanimous policy between the provinces could be evolved and the distressed people could be helped in an effective manner. He was talking to various delegations of People Youth Organisation and Business Community here on Saturday.
Raja Riaz Ahmad said that for the first time in the history of the country, four provinces have faced natural calamity and we will have to meet this challenge courageously. He said that Prime Minister has welcomed the proposal of opposition by showing political wisdom and has demonstrated positive attitude for taking a unanimous course of action on APC platform. He said that President Asif Ali Zardari's approach for providing maximum assistance to the more affected areas is based on reality and this situation could be coped with such steps.
Senior Minister appealed to the business community to spare no effort in helping the flood affectees by playing their traditional and historical spirit. He said that solid steps are needed for the rehabilitation of flood affectees particularly in Punjab.
