Indonesia realising the magnitude of the natural disaster due to unprecedented floods in Jamshoro and flood-hit areas, has dispatched a 24 member medical team to join the Pakistani authorities to extend emergency medical relief to the people of the flood-hit areas. The team arrived recently and later left for Jamshoro and the flood-hit areas, the medical team comprising doctors, paramedics and rescue experts.
Indonesia had dispatched humanitarian assistance worth $1 million for the relief of the flood victims. He said that Indonesian humanitarian assistance to flood victims would be worth US$3.3 million, being sent in stages after assessing the kind of assistance required.
Indonesia and Pakistan are brotherly countries and have always stood shoulder to shoulder in testing times. The sending of relief goods was manifestation of solidarity and support from the people and Government of Indonesia to the people and Government of Pakistan at this critical juncture.-PR
